More proof that JIT (Just in time) is a very bad business model. It only works if there are never any issues. Of course there are always issues which is why who ever came up with the idea should be fired.
If GM was smart they wouldn't wait for the 10,000 years it is going to take for Japan to no longer be radioactive. Instead they should start planning to manufacture these parts in the USA. There are millions of unemployed Americans who would love to go work for GM. This is their opportunity.
Of course they won't do that.
