Oh look......... we made a mistake and now every product you own is at risk and will need to be upgraded or replaced.

What a fantastic business model.

How are we going to make money in 2018?

Well we will tell everyone we made a mistake (Or we can really make a mistake......doesn't really matter) and then let everyone know all their stuff is at risk and should be replaced.

You will need new software........ You will need new hardware......Oh boy this is going to be a great year.

Your computer......At risk.....Replace it.

Your tablet......At risk.....Replace it.

You phone....At risk.....Replace it.

You don't have to replace it........You could just upgrade the software.....Buuuutttttt it will be 30% slower.

What are the chances that Intel chips have an issue and AMD chips have a separate (but equally terrible) issue and both are revealed on the exact same day and a solution is ready to go.

This reminds me of Elizabeth Warren.

I am not generally a fan of Elizabeth but a couple of months ago (after it was revealed Equifax put everyones identity at risk) Elizabeth grilled the CEO about how his companies mistake was a great benefit to their profits.

Now they got to charge everyone for credit monitoring services. They make the mistake and then they reap the profits from fixing their mistake. I see the exact same thing here.
