Tesla's New Ventilator.

GM and Ford agreed to build ventilators based on existing models produced by smaller companies.

The existing companies make ventilators a couple a day.

GM and Ford can bring mass production know-how to scale and help pump out existing models by hundreds a day.

Tesla took a different route. Tesla wanted to build a completely new ventilator using their existing car parts.

Parts they knew they had (or could get) and parts they knew they could trust.

Tesla was criticized for not doing what GM and Ford agreed to do.

Regardless here is their first ventilator prototype. If it helps save lives then it is all good.
