$1,000,000,000,000.00 in interest on the national debt.

Remember all those never-ending wars we fought?

The ones that went on forever and accomplished nothing?

Well those were really expensive.

We didn't have any money either.

So we printed new money and sold bonds to China.

Now we currently owe $33,000,000,000,000.00 and the interest on that pile is now over $1,000,000,000,000.00.

Normally if you spent $33,000,000,000,000.00 you could show everyone all the cool things you got for that money.

But you got nothing for that money.

Not anything at all.

Nada. Zip. Squat.

Now you still own the money back though. Plus, the interest.

You got nothing for the original money.

You will get nothing for the interest.

Pretty good deal, huh?

You must be pretty excited about that.

At some point they will tell you that you are not getting your social security money. There is just no money for you.

There is money for Ukraine. Just no money for you. Sorry!

Anyway, at some point we will discuss how you (and your children, and your grandchildren) will be paying back the $33,000,000,000,000.00.
