Blockbuster Bankrupt

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/sep/23/blockbuster-chapter-11

The internet claims another victim. It has decimated the music business. It has decimated the publishing business. It has decimated the newspaper and magazine business. Now it has claimed Blockbuster. The world changed but they didn't. Survival of the fittest.

When the internet came into prominence they said it would change the world. And they were right.

this story is right out of mark cuban's blog, blogmaverick.com. admittedly a big mark cuban fan, anyone could see this story coming since 2002. IMHO the internet is the best thing to happen in the last 15 years. the scary thing is, it's not even good yet. wait until the infrastructure, hardware & software all combine to make it mind blowing. all industries can, will & should benefit from it if adapted correctly. it takes someone will vision. blockbuster could have bought netflix for $500M in 2000. fast forward 10 years- and you get today's headline. movies, music, publishing, media, even schools & hospitals way of doing business will be much different in 10 years. -LL
