Jim Calhoun - All the critics have gone quiet.‏

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/2009-02-24-202500738_x.htm 2009 Govenor Rell criticizes Jim Calhoun for yelling at a reporter who questioned how much money he makes. (In 2011 Rell is no longer govenor. Critizing Jim Calhoun is a quick way to end ones political career.) http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3937624 2009 Lawmakers lined up to have Calhoun reprimanded. Those same lawmakers will be front and center at the parade if Uconn should win the National Championship. They will do whatever it takes to have their picture taken with the winning coach. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/seth_davis/01/20/calhoun.leave/index.html 2010 Wild speculation that Jim Calhoun is ill and it is time for him to retire. His best days are behind him and it was time to hang it up. “I hope he steps back, looks at the big picture and decides to retire at the end of this season.” Here we are in 2011 and Jim is back in the final 4 for the 2nd time in 3 years. The fourth time in his career. This week nobody will be writing Jim has lost his ability. Nobody will be calling for him to step down. As you watch Uconn discussed(and written about) in every news show, talk show, radio show, sports column across the country. As the University and state are front and center for countless free publicity (everyone should remember) it is thanks to Jim Calhoun. His hard work and dedication is why Uconn will he highlighted nationwide. The State Legislature should get to work on getting Jim a pay raise because he deserves it. Unlike any of them.
