Illegal Alien Humanitarian Crisis.....
In the words of President Obama there is a humanitarian crisis happening at the Mexican border.
And President Obama would know since he is the one who created the crisis in the first place. The crisis is not just from the influx of new illegal Aliens, but specifically the children coming across. Children coming across without parents, and in record numbers. These kids are traveling alone through war ravaged Mexico to cross the southern US border.
Why is this happen?
Well In 2008 the bottom fell out of the US economy. Banks failed, the stock market crashed, and millions of workers got laid off.
An unintended consequence of this economic meltdown was illegal immigrants stopped flooding into the United States. There was no point in risking ones life crossing the border (and possibly getting arrested) when there were no jobs once they arrived. The economy was so bad that people who were already here (illegally) were leaving (self deporting) simply because the US economy was so dire.
Instead of building on this positive development Obama (in 2011) announced his administration would no longer deport children who were brought to the United States illegally.
If you were a child and you made it into the United States then you could stay. Since that announcement the flood gates have opened. Illegal Alien Children coming to the US is up over 800% since 2010. There is no more incentive not to try and get to the USA. If you are a child and you make it in then you are all set.
On top of that….. Obama, and The democrats..... and the Republicans...... and the Corporations....... have been pushing for Amnesty (They call it a pathway to citizenship). But most importantly the ability to legally work even though you are here illegally.
The idea of Amnesty is even more of an incentive to run across the US border…..and do it as fast as possible. Everyone wants to be here (and counted) before the new law passes. Nobody wants to miss their opportunity. The next one might not happen for another 30 years.
See this is why Amnesty Is not a solution to the illegal immigration problem. Everyone says “well we can’t deport 11 million people”. And that is fine. But that doesn’t mean you need to reward people who are here illegally either. Rewarding them only gives millions more incentive to hurry up and come too. And they are.
In 1986 Reagan tried Amnesty. Said Amnesty will fix the problem. It didn’t. In 1994 Clinton passed NAFTA and said that will fix the problem. Give them jobs in Mexico and they won’t come to the United States illegally. The jobs went down, but the illegal aliens continued to come. Now Obama wants to do what Reagan did all over again. Will it work? Of course it won’t work. The illegals will continue to come to receive their anticipated rewards.
Before Obamas 2011 announcement most illegal Aliens stayed in the shadows. They didn’t want to get arrested or deported. But now they come across the border and turn themselves in immediately. And why not? Obama already said they won’t be sent back. That means it is now up to the US government (paid for by your tax dollars) to shelter them. To feed them. To take care of them.
Today the border patrol is being completely overwhelmed. They are forced to send illegals to different states just to spread them out. They are using multiple US military installations as temporary housing to deal with the exploding problem.
This latest surge is costing taxpayers over 2 billion dollars just to handle the new onslaught. It is a tsunami of illegals coming across and it isn’t a mystery why they are. The border patrol asks them “why did you come?” and they all answer with the same one word reply…..”Amnesty”.
