J. I. T.

In the old economy (the one run by smart people who hired Americans and built the biggest, most thriving economy the world has ever seen) companies had warehouses which stocked parts for whatever was being produced. When a part was needed you went out to the warehouse and grabbed it. Then you were back in business.

In the new economy (the one run by total idiots who thrive by laying people off and hiring Communist Chinese, inturn driving the economy into the toilet) there is no warehousing. Everything is J I T - (Just In Time) All the parts arrive right when you need them. (Or so you hope)

UPS is all about J. I. T. with their love of logistics. You see Ben but he sees logistics (Turd)

a "smarter supply chain".

Sounds fantastic until the supplier burns to the ground, and you have no parts, and no hope of getting parts. That leads to plants shutting down. Oops I bet you wish you had some warehouse now.

A fire that closed an auto parts plant near Detroit earlier this week is now having ripple effects on five automakers, forcing two of them to close plants or cut production because they've run short of parts."

How are those logistics working out?
