The Obama administration, citing "rigorous safety standards" and a long review process, has granted conditional approval to energy giant Shell to begin oil drilling in the Arctic waters off the coast of Alaska.

(We witnessed those “Rigorous Safety Standards” In the Gulf Of Mexico in 2010. Remember as the oil rushed out of the sea floor hour after hour……Week after week…..Month after month as the experts sat around scratching their heads wondering what to do.

Hmmmmmm if only we knew how to shut this off. But they didn’t know.

So forgive me if I am not impressed with their “Rigourous Saftey Standards”.)

The Interior Department wrote in a statement that Shell could begin drilling in the Chukchi Sea once several environmental conditions are met, including a sign-off from agencies assessing the impact on endangered species.

(Why would there be impact to endangered species? You just told me there are “Rigorous safety standards” Just start drilling.)

Shell has been pressing for years to gain permission from the federal government to tap Arctic Ocean oil reserves, a move environmentalists have protested for the perceived risks to the environment and wildlife.

(That is right….For years they have tried to drill in the arctic. Even Oil Man George W Bush and Oil man Dick Cheney couldn’t get that passed. They were not half the Republican that Barack Obama is. Obama gets this sh*t done. Nobody is happier with Republican Obama then the Oil and Gas industry………Oh and there is no “perceived risks” The risks of what millions of gallons of oil will do to the Alaskan coastline is well known.
