Here Comes The NAFTA Lobbyists......

And here come the lobbyists……..

The NAFTA negotiations are getting serious and the corporations are starting to freak out.

At first they didn’t think Trump was serious.

I mean Barack Obama promised to renegotiate NAFTA too. Then Obama became president and didn’t do anything.

That is because Barack Obama is what we call a bull sh*tter. Corporations appreciate bull sh*tter politicians. Promise whatever you want but then screw over the workers at every turn. Yay!

Trump promised the same thing but now he is actually doing it.

You see the difference? Talking vs doing…….

Trump does what he says whether you think that is good idea or not. In this case it is a great idea.

Now industry sees Trump wasn’t just lying and this sh*t is actually happening. Now panic is starting to set in.

See you don’t need lobbyists if the idea is a good one. If the idea is good for the country (and good for the workers) lobbyists don’t need to convince you of anything.

It is only when it is a terrible idea the lobbyists show up.

So right now lobbyists (who think your job should be done in Mexico) are filling your congressmen’s ears with all kinds of fairytales.

Their problem is there is already a 23 year track record of what happens with NAFTA, and it isn’t good.

But still Congress listens to the lobbyist’s and you don’t get a seat at the table. To have a seat at the table you need to first give them money. No money…….no listening.

The good news is I don’t believe Trump needs congress to end NAFTA. I believe Trump can just give 6 months notice and we are out. Then corporate America can grumble and groan and mutter......but those jobs will need to start coming back.

While the tears might be streaming down your face, as you think about the money companies will need to spend to move the factories back……I can tell you unequivocally that I will not lose a moments sleep worrying about it. I will sleep like a baby.
